When ordering from outside Japan, customs duties, import taxes, or handling fees may be imposed upon delivery depending on your country of residence.
These charges are not included in the product price or shipping cost and are the responsibility of the recipient.
For orders shipped to the United States, a 15% customs duty (included in the product price) applies based on local regulations, along with additional “prepayment fees” and “customs clearance fees.” These charges may be collected by the delivery company upon delivery. I have ordered over a dozen chisels, a few hand saws, a few planes, and other tools from Kurashige. Everything is of excellent quality and several of my favorite tools came from this store. It used to be difficult and expensive to obtain second hand Japanese tools, but now I can easily shop for brand new tools on my phone and compared to Lie Nielsen or Veritas, these Japanese tools are actually a better value. Kurashige has become my go-to source for woodworking tools.
These chisels along with the other tools received from Yamasuke Kurashige Tools are of excellent quality. The company's customer service is outstanding and the shipping is astonishingly fast. 自分はこの梅心子の切れ味に文句はございません、始めののは刃物幅135mm、２本目の刃物幅138mm,付いている箱にもそう書いてあります。併し2本とも はもの 長さは130mmなのです。じぶんは 切れる 事がポテンシャルの職人なので問題にする気はありません。しかし商法上5mmと8mmの長さの差はRetourになる恐れがありますので鍛冶屋さんに注意するご要があります。
