Big hunk of flat steel. Came exactly as advertised and is working great so far. Shipping and packaging were expeditious and snuggly packed within the box to remain safe during the journey from Japan to the states.

Beyond satisfied!

Though I have not had a chance to test the Tsunesaburo Kanaban, It arrived in a fast and timely manner. The item was exactly as described on the Kurashige Tools site, so I am glad to have it. I will give an update when I have a chance to test the Kanaban itself.

Huge. Great.

Bigger than expected, I want paying attention to the size, just didn't want screw holes. It works great.

Mill marks may be slightly deeper than what you want. But can be lapped lower with a flat stone. Since its bigger than your average sharpening stone it may be tougher to keep flat, but not a big concern now. There was a slight bump up at one of the corners, but it can be either avoided or flattened.
