Well made with good balance, a good hardness of the striking surfaces and the hole is perfectly aligned with the head. The hole did need some minor cleaning up with a file but that's because I use Osage Orange for a handle. This particular wood doesn't compress even a tiny bit so the hole needs a bit more attention than usual. If you use white oak, ash, cherry or another softer wood it doesn't need any work at all. If I had to find a flaw it's that the hole is slightly off centre but that's just nit picking and I don't expect perfection from a hand made genno. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and this genno will serve me well for years to come.
Update: After fitting a handle this morning I'm very disappointed. It wasn't clearly visible before but with the handle installed I can see the hole for the handle is very much off centre. The head also tilts to the left (or right depending from which side you look). Mind you, this is not the result of me cleaning up the hole. I only removed the rough marks from the hole punch, and I used the same number of strokes with my file on both sides. I'm very disappointed now and my advice is to stay clear from Tenun. Not worth the money.
