This is the 225 gm head fitted with figured maple handle. Eye perfectly formed. Nice weight and balance. Blacksmith finish understated elegance. Very pleased. Ordered on line. Ready for pick up in under an hour.
This is my new favorite hammer! Fitting the handle was a bit challenging, but once fit, it is very tight. The hole in the hammer, I believe is very precise which is why this will not require a wedge. I highly recommend Masatsura's hammers. I bought the XL curved handle, and used a 24mm plane to fit it. Also bought a small metal file for putting a chamfer on the opening near bottom.
