Old stock Sukemaru 3rd Timber chisels by Usui Kinzaburo 掘出し物 三代助丸作 碓氷金三郎 叩き鑿 Tatakinomi

This 3rd generation Sukemaru steel is wondeful. Not quite as hard as an old Tokyo chisel but close. I personally feel these old Sukemarus are a bit tougher than Hiromasa or Nagahiro which makes them more suitable for use in hardwood. Also easy to sharpen and cuts very well. You can't go wrong with them.

The carving detail on this tatakinomi is wonderful and the tool arrived in excellent condition
