Bikki Sunazawa (1931-1989) is a leading sculptor in Hokkaido. Born in Asahikawa, he moved to Otoeishifu, located at the northern tip of Hokkaido, in the 1960s and 1970s after having produced and exhibited works in Sapporo and Kamakura. In his studio, which was converted from an elementary school, he created the large-scale "Kaze" series of wood carvings.
This book is both a catalogue of the Sapporo Art Exhibition held to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Bikki Sunazawa's death and a collection of his major sculptures and craft works.
The book treats the major work of his later years on the theme of "wind" as a major symbol of his production, and traces his various productions leading up to "wind", not only in sculpture but also in paintings and drawings. Basic information is provided, and the works are roughly categorized according to the various themes he worked on, with explanatory notes.

北海道を代表する彫刻家・砂澤ビッキ（1931～1989）。旭川に生まれ、60～70年代に札幌と鎌倉で意欲的に制作・発表を続けた後、北海道北端にある音威子府へ移住。小学校を改築したアトリエで木彫による大作「風」シリーズを生み出しました。
本書は、砂澤ビッキ没後30年を記念して開催される札幌美術展の図録であると同時に、主な彫刻や工芸品などの作品群を掲載した作品集です。
本書では、「風」をテーマにした晩年の大作を、制作を象徴するものとして大きく取り扱い、「風」に至るまでの様々な制作を、彫刻に限らず絵画や素描にも光をあてながらたどります。基本的な情報は網羅するようにし、作品は彼が手がけた様々なテーマをおおまかに分類して、解説を付しました。
