I got this primally to use for making kumiko pieces. I think it will be quicker and easier than using a chisel but I will have to make new jigs to know. The plane is a handy size; about the size of a block plane. The blade sharpened quickly and with no issues. I did make a few rabbets and it would be useful for small boxes or other smaller work
