I have ordered over a dozen chisels, a few hand saws, a few planes, and other tools from Kurashige. Everything is of excellent quality and several of my favorite tools came from this store. It used to be difficult and expensive to obtain second hand Japanese tools, but now I can easily shop for brand new tools on my phone and compared to Lie Nielsen or Veritas, these Japanese tools are actually a better value. Kurashige has become my go-to source for woodworking tools.

Great chisels, amazing craftsmanship go through wood extremely easily keep an edge for a very long time. Insanely strong steel and beat out my old chisels by miles no contest.

Appears solid and well-made, and arrives sharp. Only small downside is that the bevel has been ground slightly skewed - I expect it won’t affect its function and I’ll try to sort it out during sharpening.

These sturdy and well made chisels are a welcome addition to my shop.
In terms of holding an edge, Sheffield and German steel don’t come close.
I spend much less time stopping work to resharpen
